It's a good point Mark. I feel the same way, and have very different Facebook and Twitter friends, for example. But I also like the separation between work and play, and the difference between private and public nature of the two channels.

But there are a lot of my friends that I wish would just stop 'not getting' Twitter without having tried it, who I know would get a lot out of it and have lots to offer also.

It's great to be able to selectively push tweets to Facebook, the ones that are relevant (ie non-geeky!). And while it's possible to do the other way around, this obviously only works if people have the desire, the know how and a Twitter account in the first place.

So .. what about an app where you can set up a Twitter account without leaving Facebook and selectively push updates and pics to your Twitter account without ever having to actually go to Twitter. We can then choose to follow them and not have to use Facebook.

Hardly the point perhaps?

And Facebook encourage use of other channels? Can't see it happening, some how ;-)
